A Little History

Created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, Saturn Girl is one of the strongest and foremost telepath’s in all of DC. She made her first appearance in Adventure Comics #247 a way back in 1958.

Saturn Girl was born on the largest moon of the planet Saturn, Titan. Like all those who hail from Titan, Saturn Girl is naturally gifted with Telepathy. What makes her unique is that, among her people she is extremely strong with the gift. This means that she is much more proficient in telepathy than most of those on the moon. Because of her natural gifts, she was transported to Earth where she trained to become a Science Police Officer.

Her quest to become a Science Police Officer, however, was not meant to be. Shortly after her flight to Earth departed she and fellow founding Legion of Superhero members Cosmic Boy and Lightning Lad foiled an assassination attempt on well-known Galactic Billionaire, R.J. Brande.

The trio would soon learn that Brande was different from the other inhabitants on Earth. Unlike most Earth dwellers, Brande was actually a shapeshifter in disguise known as Ren Daggle. Due to something known as Yorggian Fever, Daggle was unable to shape back and therefore stuck in human form.

Brande, impressed by the three, offered them the chance of a lifetime. He asked that the United Planets allow him to form a group of superheroes charged with protecting the cosmos.

And they obliged. With the approval of the United Planets, he began funding the teenagers now named the Legion of Superheroes.
