Scarlet Witch to Get a Solo Movie According to Latest Reports

Share:

One of the most popular characters in the MCU is certainly Scarlet Witch. She initially appeared as a villain in ‘Avengers’ franchise but had a change of heart and joined the team only to succumb to her demons after losing pretty much everything.

Wanda’s last appearance was in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ a movie in which she was the main villain. Scarlet Witch ultimately decided to collapse a whole castle on top of herself, with one last sacrifice she destroyed every copy of Darkhold in existence.

Now fans have long suspected that Scarlet Witch never really died, it’s going to take a lot more damage to kill one of the most powerful MCU characters. Considering that plenty of characters connected directly to Wanda are getting projects, we knew that something was going on.

In the last several months conflicting reports came to light, some claiming that her solo movie is fast in development and some claiming that it was quietly shelved. Now according to Production Weekly, the movie has officially entered development with the team being made out of familiar faces:

The movie is reported to enter production in 2026 with Feige and D’Esposito attached as producers, Jac Schaeffer (‘WandaVision,’ ‘Agatha All Along,’) attached as the writer along with Megan McDonnell. Elizabeth Olsen is naturally returning to her role.

Production Weekly is not always the most accurate source however, keep in mind that plenty of their production listings have been debunked in the past.

Now this “news” does make more sense than other listings mostly due to other characters that are either joining the MCU or returning to it. In just a few days, ‘Agatha All Along’ is releasing, with Agatha Harkness returning to the MCU and we know what a huge role she’s played in Wanda’s character development in ‘WandaVision.’

There’s also the fact that Joe Locke is joining the MCU in the role of Billy Kaplan, more famously known as Wiccan in the comics, one of the most powerful magic users in the comics and Wanda’s reincarnated son.

‘Vision’ TV show bound to be released in 2026 will see a return of both White Vision and Ultron, with Scarlet Witch being rumored to appear in the series. The most interesting thing about ‘Vision’ however is the fact that the show is confirmed to be part of a trilogy, along with ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along,’ so it’s not that far-fetched to assume that all three shows might eventually lead to a single movie that will wrap up all their stories.
