Sebastian Stan Reveals How the Thunderbolts Are “Quite Similar, in a Way” to Bucky

Sebastian Stan has recently enjoyed a string of success following his Oscar nomination for The Apprentice. Right now, though, he is waiting for his next movie, the MCU’s Thunderbolts*, to come out, and the hype related to that movie is very real and very palpable.
In a recent interview, Sebastian Stan talked about the movie, commenting specifically on Bucky’s role in the movie, as well as Bucky’s role in the Thunderbolts as a group. He never got to be Captain America, as many fans wanted, but he might get into a leadership role nevertheless, in some way, at least.
In the aforementioned interview, Stan commented on Bucky’s role in the film. “It’s like the Al Pacino quote from Godfather III,” he said. “Every time I try to get out, they pull me back in. Bucky is going to come across this group and realise that they’re quite similar, in a way, to him. So I think he feels he can contribute and be a leader.”
This is certainly an interesting perspective on Bucky’s role. Many fans believed that he would make an appearance in Brave New World, seeing how the series tied his story to Sam’s in an unbreakable way, but that did not happen.
And while Sam Wilson did get his chance to shine in a solo movie, Bucky’s time in the spotlight will come soon, but in a group movie where he will definitely have a lot of leadership potential. This is why we are looking forward to seeing how all of this plays out!
