Shameik Moore, who voices Miles Morales in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,’ recently found himself in hot water as he seemed unhappy after his co-star Hailee Steinfeld announced her engagement to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Social media was flooded with congratulations for the couple, who started dating in May 2023, but Moore opted for a different approach with an ill-timed tweet that sort of implied he was disappointed about her engagement.
Now weeks after, Laura Harrier, known for her role as Liz Allan in two MCU’s ‘Spider-Man’ installments called out the actor for his weird behavior once again.
Moore posted a video to his TikTok featuring Laura Harrier that might be interpreted as them potentially having a romantic interest in each other. The video is a year old and was taken at a party when somebody asked them to take a photo together, the Harrier added that someone must’ve also filmed it.
Moore also shared the post on X with the caption “coming soon” with a musical note emoji in what appears to be a weird publicity stunt of some sort but he later deleted the post.
Laura Harrier, currently engaged, apparently asked him to take down the post and he never did.
“I asked him ‘hey can you take this down? I don’t know why you would post that, I’m getting married I don’t like this insinuation.’ It’s still up, it’s fucking weird.”
The actress explained that “she doesn’t know him like that.”
Fans quickly started drawing parallels between this and the Hailee Steinfeld incident and noticed that the star has a certain way with engaged actresses.
Moore did not address the incident yet but did comment on the mess with Hailee Steinfeld.
After facing backlash, Shameik Moore tried to explain that fans had been twisting his words and misrepresenting him for years. The backlash mainly stemmed from speculation that Moore had feelings for Hailee Steinfeld and was upset about not acting on them.
At FAN EXPO San Francisco 2024, Moore discussed his compliments toward Steinfeld during the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse press tour, emphasizing his genuine appreciation for working with her.
He explained that during the second movie, he and Steinfeld worked more closely together, making it easier to connect. Moore also addressed the controversy, saying it had been a tough weekend, and apologized for the internet backlash.
