The anime will be produced by Sony Yay!, India’s kid’s programming channel, and it is tentatively titled Project K. Tiwari described as “possibly India’s first anime series,” which is definitely an interesting choice of words, knowing that anime is generally associated with Japan. But, we also know that Sony owns Crunchyroll and that the project is going to be made in collaboration with Japanese filmmakers.

Not much is known about the project, but we know it will be inspired by Indian mythology. We also know that it won’t feature neither Kalki nor Ashwathama, but Tiwari refused to reveal which characters will be featured.

He added, “This is a very anime story with a little guy who has some kind of powers, and then a full physical transformation happens.” This sounds like a classic shounen storyline, so fans of the genre have something to look forward to. This will definitely be an interesting story, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest news and details.
