Spawn vs. Ghost Rider: Todd McFarlane Weighs In Ahead of Epic Death Battle

pawn creator Todd McFarlane recently shared his thoughts on the highly anticipated fight between Spawn and Ghost Rider in the popular online series.

Spawn has been gaining popularity again in recent years. While the character has always had a presence in comics, his appearance in Mortal Kombat 11 and the upcoming King Spawn movie have put him back in the spotlight. So, when Death Battle announced a Spawn vs. Ghost Rider matchup, fans went wild debating who would win.

During an interview with Heroic Hollywood at Megacon in Orlando, McFarlane made it clear who he thinks will win.

“Spawn wins. Spawn beats Superman. Oddly, if you’ve been paying attention, and you’ve seen what he’s done in the last 30 years, if people wish to combine all of that at one moment, I don’t think there’s any other character that can say they have the power that he has.”

He went on to explain that Spawn’s power level is so high that fans have even made videos proving how overpowered he is.

“There are some people who put videos together and go ‘Spawn’s too overpowered’ because when they go through it… they go on for about 40 minutes. If you put all that together into one punch, it’s a knockout punch.”

While he thinks Spawn easily defeats Ghost Rider, McFarlane has another fight in mind. He wants to see Spawn take on Superman.

“Who’s the guy who’s taking down Spawn? That’s just a hell guy, that’s Ghost Rider, he takes out Ghost Rider, right? All the other guys. The question is, can Superman take him out? That’s the bigger question, so hopefully we get to that battle.”

This isn’t Spawn’s first time in Death Battle. He previously fought Kratos from God of War and later faced off against Venom in the spin-off show DBX. Now, he’s back to take on Ghost Rider. Will McFarlane’s confidence prove right? Fans will have to watch and see!
