Spider-Man Is Becoming a Manga Hero Once Again in ‘Spider-Man Manga: Shadow Warrior’
Marvel is diving into the manga scene once again with an exciting new series called Spider-Man Manga: Shadow Warrior, set to launch this Fall. Spider-Man has already made several appearances in manga, but this time, things are getting even more interesting.
The story will follow Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and Spider-Gwen as they journey back to feudal Japan.
Their mission? To stop the Kingpin, who has mysteriously taken control of Edo. But there’s a big twist—someone new bonds with the Venom symbiote, creating a unique version of Venom that we haven’t seen before.
Spider-Man Manga: Shadow Warrior is written and illustrated by Shogo Aoki and will hit shelves on September 16th. It promises a blend of time travel and Isekai elements, with the heroes navigating a whole new world to take down Kingpin, now the Governor of Edo.
The official synopsis gives us a sneak peek: ‘Travel to 19th century Japan, where the Kingpin Wilson Fisk has fled America and established himself as Governor of Edo. Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Ghost-Spider are hot on his trail.’
But it doesn’t stop there—Kingpin has brought along an alien parasite, leading to a young man named Hyo accidentally bonding with it and becoming Venom. This makes the heroes’ mission even more difficult.
Marvel’s history with manga is rich, featuring previous crossovers like Attack on Titan and collaborations with famous creators. Now, Shadow Warrior continues that tradition, bringing something fresh for both manga and superhero lovers.
