Star Wars Fandom Reacts to ‘The Acolyte’ Getting Canceled – “It was bigoted and racist trash”

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ premiered earlier this year, and the show was met with overwhelmingly negative reception and criticism due to its “woke” themes. As episodes were being released however we realized that the show was too expensive for the level of production it delivered and that it was overall of mediocre or even bad quality both in terms of story, acting, writing, and pacing.

The only redeeming quality of the show was the villain, and those few lightsaber action scenes we got. A couple of weeks back I wrote a piece about how unlikely ‘The Acolyte’ is to get a second season. While negative online reception was certainly a massive factor in my analysis, the fact that it was expensive to make but delivered catastrophic viewership figures was the final nail in the coffin.

‘The Acolyte’ was consistently losing viewers week after week despite some very suspicious reports claiming that it was the second-most popular Star Wars show of all time. The media tried to hype it up to the best of their abilities but the fans just weren’t interested.

The final episode did deliver great potential to continue with the second season in the form of Yoda and Darth Plagueis cameos, but at that point, the damage was done.

The fans are now reacting to the cancellation and as always, the reactions are all over the place ranging from disappointment to pure glee:
