Star Wars canon keeps expanding, so it was just a matter of time before fans got a better look at the lives of Clone Troopers. ‘Star Wars: The Secrets of the Clone Troopers’ is a canon reference book published by Insight Editions on October 8, 2024, the book as you might imagine gives us better insights into the Galaxy’s most popular army.
This is an in-universe, interactive book that explores the lore behind the galaxy’s clone army, from their creation on Kamino to their role in Order 66. It highlights iconic clones like Captain Rex, Commander Cody, and Clone Force 99, spanning across films, shows, comics, and more.
With engaging features like pop-ups and lift-the-flap inserts, plus original illustrations and a poster, the book offers an immersive experience for young fans and collectors alike.
The book also features a first confirmed Clone Tropper who is also a trans woman under the nickname “Sister.”
According to the official description, the book describes Sister as a clone trooper in the 7th Sky Corps who expressed her gender identity differently from her fellow troopers and initially felt she would need to conceal her true self. However, her supportive comrades gave her the name “Sister” to affirm that she was accepted and belonged among them.
Sister is not a new character in Star Wars lore, but it’s the first time that the emphasis has been put on gender identity this directly. Sister was a trans-female clone trooper who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. She fought alongside notable figures like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Commander Cody as part of the 7th Sky Corps.
Later, the character also participated in an aid mission to Langston with Skywalker and the 302nd Battalion.
This can be described only as a stunning and brave move! While you might wonder how this even makes sense, fans used the opportunity to voice their displeasure online:
