‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ is the name of an upcoming live-action series that will expand the Star Wars universe. The series is currently scheduled for a 2023 premiere on Disney+ (no release date has been given at this point) and was created by the duo consisting of Jon Watts and Christopher Ford. The series will follow a group of children, most likely Force-sensitive, who will have to go on an adventure if they want to return to their home planet, from which they got lost after a strange discovery.

Although the series is supposedly close to its premiere, we still know very little about it, which makes sense, seeing how ‘Ahsoka’ is currently the focus when Star Wars is in question. But, based on our limited information, we have decided to tell you a bit about the cast and the characters of the series. However, we must tell you that the article will definitely be updated soon, as more information will be revealed in the upcoming weeks or months.

‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’ – Who is playing whom?

As we have said above, there is limited information about the series as a whole, so we don’t have much official information for you now. We know some of the cast members, but data on the characters is scarce, so we will tell you what is known about them and update the article as more information is made available.

Jude Law as an unnamed Force-user/Jedi

The main adult character of the series is going to be Jude Law’s unnamed Force-user, most likely a Jedi (the sources differ on the role of this character in the story, with some calling him a Jedi, while others simply labeling him as a Force-user). He will be the one to find the kids and guide them on their adventure, serving as both a guardian and a mentor figure to the youngest characters.

The main character will be played by legendary actor Jude Law, who makes his debut in the Star Wars franchise. A BAFTA winner and an Oscar-nominee, Jude Law needs no further introduction, as his rich career includes some classic titles such as ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley,’ ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence,’ the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ series (where he plays a young Dumbledore), Guy Ritchie’s ‘Sherlock Holmes’ films (where he plays Dr. Watson), as well as ‘Captain Marvel,’ ‘Hugo,’ and ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel.’

The children

As we have said, the principal cast members of this series will be the children, as the series was described by Debopriyaa Dutta as “a story about a group of kids […] in the ‘Star Wars’ galaxy, who have a sense of wonder […] [and] go on an adventure.” The story will feature a lot of similarities with children’s classics such as ‘The Goonies,’ but will be watchable for both children and adults, as there will be a similar element to the hit series ‘The Mandalorian,’ which also features an adult (Din Djarin) taking care of a baby (Grogu).

The names of the children have not been revealed, nor do we know anything else about them save that they make a strange discovery on their home planet, end up getting lost in the galaxy afterward, and then end up on that adventure with Jude Law’s character as they try to find a way home. The children will be played by Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith.

Ryan Kiera Armstrong, whom you might know from ‘It: Chapter Two’ and ‘American Horror Story: Double Feature,’ will also be appearing in an undisclosed role, but she will probably be related to the main children in some way.

Tunde Adebimpe in an undisclosed role

Tunde Adebimpe was not initially announced among the crew, but his name was soon included on the list. But as far as the information we have now is concerned, we know absolutely nothing about his character, save that he will be playing an adult. But that’s about it.

For those of you who don’t know, Tunde Adebimpe is an American musician, singer-songwriter, actor, and director and is probably best known as the lead singer of the New York-based band TV on the Radio. He has made several appearances on film and in various TV series, with his filmography including such titles as the Marvel film ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ the Oscar-nominated film ‘Marriage Story,’ and the ‘Perry Mason’ television remake.

Kerry Condon in an undisclosed role

Kerry Condon’s name also appeared later on the list of cast members, as the Irisch actress was announced as the first female adult character in the series. Sadly, like in the previous case, we have no clue about her role, so we’ll have to wait for more information to become available regarding her role.

Kerry Condon is a well-known name in the entertainment industry, as the Irish actress has been active since 1999, and while this is her Star Wars debut as well, she is a brand name, much like Jude Law. Marvel fans will know her as the voice of F.R.I.D.A.Y. in several MCU movies, but she is also well-known for her roles in the Oscar-nominated movies ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ and ‘The Banshees of Inisherin,’ both by Martin McDonagh, with the latter earning her universal recognition. On television, she portrayed Stacey Ehrmantraut, Mike’s widowed daughter-in-law in ‘Better Call Saul,’ and Molly Sullivan in the ‘Ray Donovan’ series.

Jaleel White in an undisclosed role

Jaleel White is the final cast member to be announced when writing this article, and his name was revealed several months ago. Of course, nothing is known about his role in the series, but knowing White’s previous outings, he might very well play a voice role or a character who is going to be comic relief, but we wouldn’t guess too much, as the produces might completely surprise us in that aspect.

Of course, fans of sitcoms will know the name of Jaleel White quite well, as he made a name for himself playing Steve Urkel in the ‘Family Matters’ sitcom, which was one of the most popular sitcoms of the time. Steve Urkel is now a classic television character whom most people know, so it remains to be seen how the series will distance White’s character from that role (or not).

Aside from that, White has also made music and some voice work, being known for providing the voice of the globally popular Sonic the Hedgehog in the animated iterations of the franchise. His movie career is not that known, but he has made guest appearances in numerous TV shows, including ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,’ ‘Boston Legal,’ ‘House, M.D.,’ ‘NCIS,’ ‘Bones,’ and others, as well in some animated franchises such as ‘Teen Titans Go!,’ ‘Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?’ (where he reprised his role of Steve Urkel), and others.
