The next Star Wars movie to look forward to is ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu. ‘Directed by Jon Favreau and co-written with Dave Filoni, it picks up where the Disney+ series ‘The Mandalorian,’ starring Pedro Pascal, left off.

Season 4 of ‘The Mandalorian’ was delayed due to the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes. To keep things moving, Lucasfilm shifted focus to this film. Announced in January 2024, filming began in California in August 2024.

The cast includes Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, also known as The Mandalorian, a bounty hunter. Grogu, a young creature of Yoda’s species and Din’s companion, Sigourney Weaver in so far unknown role, and apparently, ‘The Bear’s’ Jeremy Allen White who will voice Rotta the Hutt, the son of Jabba the Hutt.

Rotta, nicknamed “Stinky” by Ahsoka Tano, was Jabba the Hutt’s son. During the Clone Wars, he was kidnapped in a plot by Count Dooku and his great-uncle Ziro to frame the Jedi and disrupt Republic-Hutt negotiations.

Anakin and Ahsoka rescued him from the planet Teth. Rotta became sick but survived thanks to Ahsoka. After escaping Dooku’s attempts to kill him, Rotta was safely returned to Jabba. He later appeared at Jabba’s Palace during a visit from Baron Papanoida.

The last we’ve seen on Rotta was in ‘The Clone Wars’ so by now, he is all grown up.

White stars in ‘The Bear,’ a critically acclaimed series where he plays a talented but troubled chef, earning him awards and even more recognition. Beyond TV, he has appeared in indie films like ‘The Rental’ and ‘Afterschool,’ showcasing his range as an actor.
