Oh, red how I love you so. You’re so unique. You’re both the colour of passion and the colour of rage. You mean so much to so many people and yet, for all that you are, you’re a simple, simple colour. So simple, in fact, that you’re actually nothing more than a primary colour.

Red, you make anything and everything around you look good. You brighten up the sky on a gloomy night. You highlight many once bland rooms. And you do it without ever asking anything.

Most importantly Red, you are the colour of choice for so many important superheroes.

What’s that red? Which heroes you ask?

Well, let me tell you.

Here are the best superheroes that wear red.

List of the best superheroes that wear red:

10. Spider-Woman

Of all the superheroes that wear red, none are as widely speculated to join the MCU as Spider-Woman.

Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) first appeared inside the pages of Marvel Spotlight #32 and quickly became a fan-favorite character. Because she was medically treated with a serum that included arachnid blood, Jessica possesses superhuman strength, speed, durability, agility, reflexes, hearing, flexibility, and stamina. She is also immune to toxins, can climb walls, can projects blasts, has regenerative healing, can release pheromones that elicit fear, can glide through the air, and so much more.

While her costume isn’t as timeless as Spider-Man’s, it is a beautiful shade of red.

9. The Incredibles

The Incredibles

Aside from the Fantastic Four, no family is as impressive as the Incredibles.

And why?

Simple.

Each member of the family brings something different to the table. Mr. Incredible has super strength. Elasti-Girl can stretch and form her body into any shape. Violet Parr is able to turn herself invisible. Dash Parr does exactly as his name implies and possesses super speed. And Jack-Jack, well, he can practically do anything he wants.

The Incredibles are a formidable bunch and due to this, very few ever successfully challenge them. Knowing this, you may be asking yourself exactly why they make this list. The answer is simple. The Incredibles are an entire group of superheroes that wear red.

8. Deadman

Deadman is what happens when a trapeze artist is killed and a Hindu God named “Rama Kushna” imbues the spirit with the power to take control of any living being, so as to find the murderer.

As a spirit, Deadman is unable to be seen or heard by any around him, save for some of DC’s mystics. He’s also able to float and pass through animate and inanimate objects. Once in control of a living being, Deadman is able to communicate with all those around him. After he’s through with them, those possessed can’t recount anything.

As for the colour red, one look at him and it’s easy to see exactly why he belongs here.

7. Deadpool

Deadpool

It’s tough to classify Deadpool as a superhero. After all, he doesn’t exactly fit the superhero mould. He kills, talks with a mouth reserved for sailors, and doesn’t make a very good teammate. In truth, he’s probably more of an anti-hero than he is a hero.

All that aside, he wears red and wears it gloriously.

Deadpool is one of the most popular superheroes at Marvel. If you think about it, this is a giant feat. Deadpool, unlike most other extremely popular heroes has only been around for about 30 years, whereas the others have been around for more than double that.

6. Scarlet Witch

Very few superheroes are as feared as Scarlet Witch. Not only is she capable of creating entirely new realities, but she has actually done it

Scarlet Witch is one of the premier users of magic in all of Marvel. She’s able to alter the probability of everything around her all-the-while lifting and moving objects with her mind, flying, and teleporting to anywhere she desires. Scarlet Witch isn’t only a member of the Avengers but she’s also a member of the X-Men. I assume this to be so because neither team would want her as an enemy.

Scarlet Witch is one of my superheroes that wear red and will continue to be as long as she continues to wear it.

5. Daredevil

Daredevil

Thankfully after just six issues, Marvel decided that Daredevil’s yellow costume had to go and in its place, they colored the now iconic red costume.

Daredevil is the people’s champion. He fights villains in the street for the people and he fights villains in the courtroom for the people. He’s the reason that Hell’s Kitchen is as safe as it’s ever been, villains think twice before entering it, and very few try to attack it twice.

Daredevil is one of Marvel’s longest-tenured characters and for good reason. His backstory is fantastic, his reason for being is unmatchable, his disability should put him at a disadvantage but doesn’t, and he is extremely relatable. Daredevil belongs here because any list like this is incomplete without him.

4. Shazam

Shazam!

With the release of 2018s Shazam movie, the hero has gained a following that DC could never have dreamed of. The movie, while not the best DC has done, was fun, lighthearted and showed exactly why the company resurrected him after years of hiding.

Shazam possesses the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. He is near without equal and can stand with the best of them on any given day. Better yet, he does it all dressed as one of my superheroes that wear red.

3. Plastic Man

Plastic Man

Patrick “Eel” O’Brian was once a petty thief. As a thief, he raided small buildings and safes. Unfortunately, on one of his many raids, things didn’t go exactly as planned.

Let me explain.

While in the middle of their operation, a patrolling security guard opened fire on Patrick and his partners. The bullets caused Patrick to fall into a vat of acid.

Once awake, he learned that he had been abandoned by his counterparts, that he had been taken in by Monks, and that he was now extremely pliable. The treatment of Patrick by the Monks had a profound effect on him. Rather than returning to crime, he adopted the name Plastic Man, used his new powers for good, and did both as one of a few superheroes that wear red.

2. The Flash

Feared Flash Enemies

Although it may be hard to actually see him, rest assured that The Flash is one of the superheroes that wear red.

There have been multiple incarnations of The Flash. Of them all (Wally West, Jay Garrick, and Barry Allen to name a few) none are arguably as known or important as Barry Allen. Barry was created at a time when superheroes weren’t well received. He’s a member of the Justice League, helps keep the streets of Central City safe, and does so in one of the best costumes in existence.

As a member of the Justice League, Barry has access to and is friends with the who’s who of the DC Universe. This, of course, includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, and more.

1. Spider-Man

Todd McFarlane and Spider-Man Cover

As Marvel’s flagship hero, a lot of pressure is placed upon the notoriously small shoulders of Peter Parker. Through all the pressure, he handles it very well.

Right?

Think about it. Spider-Man has the most well-known enemies at Marvel. Just take a look at this…Venom, Electro, Rhino, Scorpion, Doctor Octopus, Carnage, Green Goblin, Vulture, Shocker, Prowler, Hobgoblin, and more! Nobody in Marvel comes even close to boasting that.

But that’s not all.

His main costume has remained mostly unchanged for over 50 years and for good reason. It’s the perfect combination of blue, black, and red. It’s as if Steve Ditko, like Raphael of the Renaissance, knew he had created a masterpiece when he drew it up.

And that’s it. The top 10 superheroes that wear Red. Do you agree? Do you disagree? Who would make your superheroes that wear red list?
