Next summer is going to be the summer of Superman as DCU’s first live-action project releases – ‘Superman.’ We know quite a bit about ‘Superman’ production since we were able to follow it live when it was filming around Georgia and Ohio.
We also know some details regarding the movie’s plot based on rumors, leaks, and Gunn’s own comments. Despite being a controversial production, mostly due to the fans claiming that the movie looks and feels cheap, it’s undeniable that everyone is eagerly awaiting the first trailer for a project that’s been dubbed by Gunn as “the true start of the DCU.”
Now Gunn recently said (or joked) that ‘Superman’ trailer is ready and on his hard drive, with some rumors claiming that we’re going to get a glimpse of it by the end of December.
Frank Grillo, is scheduled to portray Rick Flag. Sr. in the upcoming flick also claimed that the trailer is phenomenal and he has gotten “hot” just by watching it. This confirms that the trailer truly is ready but there’s a catch.
Writer/filmmaker Dan Marcus claims that a nearly finalized version of the Superman trailer was shown to WBD’s Michael De Luca, who then instructed the editor to “make it better.”
Marcus claims he is excited about the Superman trailer and mentioned that Warner Bros. is under a lot of pressure for it to be well-received. The studio reportedly requested multiple cuts of the trailer to find the best version.
He clarified that the trailer editor presented a nearly finalized version to the studio weeks ago, but the studio wasn’t satisfied and asked for improvements. He also mentioned the marketing department has recently been downsized, making the situation more challenging.
James Gunn already addressed the claim on social media, stating that he truly did request another cut, but the feedback was more specific than make it better:
We’re even more excited about the trailer now. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
