The Oscars brought an unexpected treat for Alien fans! While Alien: Romulus didn’t win the award for Best Visual Effects, viewers were in for a surprise when a Hulu show reel played new footage from the upcoming Alien: Earth series.

Fans watching the Oscars were quick to notice the fresh clips and even managed to record them from the stream. If you missed it, make sure to check it out below:

The footage was brief but exciting. It included quick shots of intense action, eerie locations, and a dark, suspenseful atmosphere that fits perfectly with the Alien universe. But the biggest moment came at the very end. For the first time outside of the teaser trailer, we got another look at the terrifying Xenomorph!

One detail caught fans off guard—there was an unusual sound in the background of the trailer. Some viewers believe they heard a noise similar to the Predator’s signature clicking sound. This has sparked speculation about a possible connection between Alien: Earth and the Predator franchise. Could there be a crossover, or is it just a coincidence? For now, it remains a mystery.

The story of Alien: Earth follows a young woman and a group of soldiers who discover something terrifying after a spaceship crashes on Earth. This discovery leads them to face a deadly threat—likely the terrifying Xenomorphs. The series will serve as a prequel and will be set two years before the events of the 1979 film Alien.

The show stars Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, and Adarsh Gourav. It is being made by 20th Television and Scott Free Productions and will be released on FX on Hulu in the U.S.
