Blue Beetle
Blue Beetle is a superhero name attributed to several fictional characters that appear in Marvel Comics. The character was first created by Charles Nicholas Wojtkoski and debuted in Mystery Men Comics #1 in 1939. Since the character’s inception, the mantle of Blue Beetle has been carried by Dan Garret, Ted Kord, and Jaime Reyes. The original Blue Beetle, Dan Garrett, was created in 1939 and was a police officer who used a special blue scarab to gain superhuman strength and abilities. The character was later updated in the 1960s with a new version, Ted Kord, who was a brilliant inventor and martial artist but had no actual superpowers. Kord created a series of high-tech gadgets and weapons to fight crime and assumed the Blue Beetle mantle. In the 2000s, a third character, Jaime Reyes, became the Blue Beetle after discovering an alien scarab that attached itself to his spine and granted him a suit of high-tech armor and various superhuman abilities.
