‘The Acolyte’ Star Amandla Stenberg Facing Harassment from Star Wars “Fans”—Absolutely Inexcusable!

Share:

The Acolyte, Disney’s latest Star Wars project, has sparked significant controversy since its debut, facing review-bombing and other incidents. This controversy has eclipsed previous issues with Star Wars projects. Although the series concluded with eight episodes and there were hopes for a second season, it was confirmed earlier today that Disney has canceled the show and there will be no additional seasons.

This decision has led to mixed reactions online, as the final episodes had somewhat redeemed the series for some fans. Regardless of personal opinions, this cancellation is now a reality.

However, what’s truly unacceptable is the recent harassment of The Acolyte star Amandla Stenberg by “fans” and bullies online, targeting her over the show’s cancellation. This kind of behavior is reprehensible and should not be tolerated.

As mentioned, The Acolyte has been canceled by Disney, and there will be no second season. While this outcome was anticipated and accepted as reality, there isn’t much that can be done about it. Although some fans may be pleased by the news, there’s a significant difference between expressing satisfaction about a show being canceled and what has transpired here, which is completely unacceptable:

As seen, a number of so-called “fans” have taken to Amandla Stenberg’s social media to mock her following the series’ cancellation. This toxic and abusive behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated online. While we don’t know how the young actress has responded to these vulgar and disturbing messages, we hope she doesn’t take them to heart, as they do not reflect the sentiments of genuine Star Wars fans.

Ultimately, these individuals are not true fans and do not represent what Star Wars stands for. Stenberg deserves far better, and we wholly condemn this behavior. We stand with her and wish her continued success in her career.
