‘The Brilliant Healer’s Life in the Shadows’ Anime Releases New Video, Reveals Cast Info, Opening Song, April Premiere

The anime adaptation ofThe Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows has revealed some exciting updates. Shochiku released a new official promo video on February 11, 2025, giving us a first listen to the opening theme, ‘Light Maker,’ by the band bokula.

The series is based on the light novels by Sakaku Hishikawa and Daburyu, and it’s set to premiere on April 3, 2025, on Tokyo MX and BS11. Fans can also stream it on ABEMA and d Anime Store.

The new video also introduces more voice cast members. Yuki Nakashima will voice Krishna, the Vice-Commander of the Royal Guard. Taku Yashiro is joining as Zonde, Zophia’s younger brother. Masaaki Mizunaka will play Aston, the leader of the adventurer party Zenos once belonged to.

The anime stars Shōgo Sakata as Zenos, Miharu Hanai as Lily, and Yōko Hikasa as Carmilla. Other key cast include Anna Nagase as Zophia and Mashiro Hitaka as Lynga. The anime is being directed by Joe Yoshizaki at Makaria Inc., with Taika Miyagi writing the scripts.

The story follows Zenos, a man born in poverty. After being mistreated by his adventurer team, he starts a new life as a healer in the dark corners of the city.

Word spreads quickly about his amazing abilities, and soon even the royal palace is interested in him. The question remains: Can Zenos rise above his past and save his patients while carving a place for himself in a cruel world?

The series is available in English through J-Novel Club, and the manga adaptation is also being released in English.
