Hulu is getting ready to debut its new half-hour comedy series, Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell, who also co-created the show with Michael Waldron. Set to premiere in Fall 2025, the series takes a lighthearted look at the world of college football.
The story follows Russ Holliday, a former star college quarterback whose shot at the NFL falls apart due to his bad choices. Determined to make a comeback, Holliday reinvents himself as Chad Powers, a skilled and upbeat player. Using wigs and prosthetics, he sneaks onto a struggling Southern football team, giving himself a second chance at his dreams.
In the teaser, Powell plays both Holliday and his alter ego, Chad, highlighting the differences between the two characters. “I got something coming up,” Holliday says in the clip. “Something kinda big.”

The idea for the series comes from a 2022 ESPN+ sketch where former NFL quarterback Eli Manning went undercover as a walk-on recruit at Penn State. Powell and Waldron saw potential in expanding the concept into a larger story. “We’re huge college football fans,” they shared in a statement. “When we saw Eli as Chad Powers, we knew this idea had a lot of fun potential. We can’t wait to bring Chad to life.”
The series is backed by some big names, with Eli and Peyton Manning serving as producers through Omaha Productions, alongside Jamie Horowitz and Ben Brown from ESPN. Tony Yacenda directs and executive produces, joined by Luvh Rakhe and Adam Fasullo. Powell is also an executive producer through Barnstorm Productions.
The cast includes Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Steve Zahn, promising a blend of comedy and heartfelt moments. With its mix of sports, humor, and redemption, Chad Powers looks to be a standout addition to Hulu’s lineup.
