‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Season 4 Production Has Started

Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer left us with plenty of unanswered questions, but there’s good news—Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is coming back. Season 4 is already filming in Los Angeles, and this time, the stakes are higher than ever.
The legal drama, based on Michael Connelly’s novels, will see Mickey take on his toughest case yet—his own. With Constance Zimmer (UnREAL, Entourage) joining the cast for a major role, there’s a lot to look forward to in the new season.
Mickey’s next legal battle will play out over 10 episodes, drawing from The Law of Innocence, the sixth book in Connelly’s Lincoln Lawyer series. After the chaos of Season 3, there’s no telling how things will unfold, but one thing is certain: Mickey is in deep trouble.
Season 3’s finale left viewers with a shocking cliffhanger—Mickey’s Lincoln was opened, and what was inside could change everything. Co-executive producer and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey promises that Season 4 will tackle this head-on.
“Well, the biggest cliff-hanger of all is ‘What is going to happen to Mickey?’ and that one certainly plays out across the whole season in the form of his trial,” Humphrey revealed from the set. “But in the first episode, you’ll understand at least the broad strokes of what specifically has happened and what charges—and adversaries—Mickey is facing. This is going to be the biggest and most personal challenge Mickey has ever faced, and also the biggest roller coaster we’ve yet taken our audience on.”
This time, Mickey isn’t just fighting for a client—he is the client. Humphrey explains that all the advice Mickey has given over the years is now coming back to him, but it doesn’t feel quite the same when he’s the one in the hot seat.
“He’s got to deal with how this impacts not just him but also his family and loved ones, not to mention his business! But don’t worry—he’s going to have help from some of the people our audience loves the most, as well as some familiar faces who will be cropping up along the way—some helpfully… some perhaps not so helpfully, and a few new ones as well.”
Garcia-Rulfo is back as Mickey, joined by Becki Newton (Lorna), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), and Angus Sampson (Cisco). Neve Campbell (Maggie McPherson) is also returning for every episode of the season.
One of the most exciting additions is Emmy-nominated Constance Zimmer, who plays Dana Berg, a relentless prosecutor from the LA district attorney’s office. Known as “Death Row Dana,” she’ll stop at nothing to secure a guilty verdict. Mickey will have to face her in what could be the trial of his life. Humphrey is thrilled about Zimmer joining the show, saying, “I shot our first scene with Constance in court, and it was fantastic!”
There’s no official release date yet, but production is in full swing. Until then, you can revisit Mickey’s past cases by streaming the first three seasons of The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix.
