‘The Remarried Empress’ Live-Action Adaptation Finds Its Rashta Isqua

The Korean manhwa and webtoon market is a steadily growing one, which is a result of a growing interest in Korean culture, as well as the growth of connected markets, including the anime and manga ones. In light of that, webtoons are becoming more popular globally and are, more often than before, being adapted for the screen.
Whether it is an animated or live-action version, Korean webtoons always spark some interest, which is what inspired this article. Namely, we know that the popular webtoon The Remarried Empress is getting a live-action adaptation in Korea soon, and a new cast member has just been revealed.
The Remarried Empress started off as a web novel and was later adapted in the format of a webtoon, which made it available for a wider audience. The story focuses on Navier, the perfect Empress of the Eastern Empire, who opts to divorce after finding out that Emperor Sovieshu, her husbands, plans to dump her and put his mistress in her place. Determined to retain her status and privileges, Navier resolves to become an Empress in another land.
As for the adaptation, we already know that Min-a Shin and Jong-suk Lee will star in the series, and we can now confirm that the series has found its Rashta Isqua, a runaway slave discovered by Sovieshu during a hunting trip. The character will be played by Lee Se-young, who is thus the latest actor to join the cast.
The series doesn’t have an official release date just yet, but we can expect a confirmation soon. It will initially be broadcast on Korean television; we will report on any localizations as soon as more information is available.
