This May, one of the most beloved couples in comic book history is making a comeback. Scarlet Witch and Vision will reunite in a brand-new five-issue limited series titled The Vision & The Scarlet Witch, written by Steve Orlando with artwork by Lorenzo Tammetta and Jacopo Camagni.
This series marks the 50th anniversary of their wedding, which first took place in Giant-Size Avengers #4 back in 1974. Over the years, Scarlet Witch and Vision have been through countless ups and downs—falling in love, getting married, raising children, experiencing heartbreak, and reuniting stronger than before. Now, they’re back together for a new adventure that will put their love to the ultimate test.
The series builds upon Orlando’s successful Scarlet Witch run, which has given Wanda a fresh start as a solo hero. But this time, she won’t be fighting alone. Instead, she’ll be using her powerful magic to help Vision, whose life is in grave danger.
The story kicks off with mysterious doors appearing all over the world. These doors promise miracles and allow people to reunite with loved ones they thought were lost forever. However, Vision soon discovers the dark truth behind these portals—and pays the price.
Mortally wounded while investigating, Vision is on the brink of death. Scarlet Witch must take extreme measures to save him, but the consequences of her actions will be unlike anything they have ever faced before.
Writer Steve Orlando expressed his excitement about working on this project, emphasizing the depth of Wanda and Vision’s relationship:
“When it comes to the Scarlet Witch, anything’s possible! Now, on the 50th Anniversary of their wedding, the Vision and the Scarlet Witch reunite to face a creeping, corrosive evil from beyond not just the grave, but beyond the universe itself.”
“Wanda and Vision remain one of Marvel’s most iconic couples—not just for their marriage, but for everything since. They’ve come together, fallen apart, and reunited stronger than before. That’s a rare and beautiful thing. At Death’s Door, Wanda and Vision have nowhere to turn… but to each other.”
Artist Lorenzo Tammetta is thrilled to be working on this series:
“Working on Scarlet Witch is a dream job. Drawing Wanda in action is always fun and inspiring, and I’m so happy to be able to continue exploring her powers in this series. Being able to draw her alongside Vision is also a huge honor, knowing how important these characters are to fans!”
Meanwhile, Jacopo Camagni shared his excitement about capturing the dramatic nature of Wanda and Vision’s love story:
“Scarlet Witch and Vision are one of my favorite couples in the Marvel Universe. They have the most dramatic history and an almost Victorian love story. The idea of working on their relationship excites me, and I can’t wait!”
Marvel has revealed stunning cover artwork for the new series, including Russell Dauterman’s main cover and breathtaking variant covers by Stephanie Hans, Marguerite Sauvage, and a Foil Homage Variant Cover by Josemaria Casanovas.
Before this new chapter begins on 5/21, fans can experience the final issue of Wanda’s current solo adventure in Scarlet Witch (2024) #10, which releases on March 5.
