Is Scarlet Witch returning or not? That’s one of the biggest questions MCU fans are grappling with, and it’s easy to see why. Wanda is a major character and a fan favorite for many reasons. With her current status being unclear (whatever that means), fans are eager to see her back in the MCU.

As expected, theories and rumors about her return are running wild. Initially, there were talks of a solo movie in development, but those plans were reportedly scrapped. Then came new rumors suggesting Wanda might play a significant role in upcoming Avengers films. While nothing is confirmed, it’s safe to say the signs point to Wanda’s eventual return.

Though Wanda didn’t make an appearance in Agatha All Along, as some fans speculated, the series may have set up the perfect opportunity for her future, possibly even revealing her next villain for a potential solo film!

As we know, Wanda was presumed dead in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and her “corpse” was reportedly seen in Agatha All Along. However, the series never explicitly stated that she was dead, only that she was “gone”—a choice of words that seems intentional, as we’ve previously discussed.

Many fans expected Wanda to return to the series, but that didn’t happen. Still, rumors about her comeback are louder than ever, with even the actress herself hinting at a return. However, no concrete details have emerged, and it’s leaving us all in suspense.

While we wait for any official confirmation, we came across an intriguing theory on ScreenRant that suggests Agatha All Along may have set up a future Scarlet Witch project—without even featuring Wanda herself in the series. It’s definitely a theory worth considering.

The theory centers around Lady Death, or Rio Vidal, portrayed by Aubrey Plaza in the series. Lady Death quickly became a standout character, gaining fan admiration despite her sinister nature.

You might recall how she called Billy an “abomination” that went against the “sacred order.” According to ScreenRant, this could spark a major feud, potentially serving as the core conflict in a future Scarlet Witch solo movie.

The theory suggests that Lady Death harbors anger toward Wanda for her ability to create souls from nothing—something she used to create Billy and Tommy. This makes Wanda indirectly responsible for the death of Billy Kaplan and the birth of Wiccan, both of whom Lady Death despises, as we’ve previously discussed.

While Wanda is currently “gone,” should a solo movie materialize, her return to life could intensify Lady Death’s hatred. Wanda would be defying natural laws once again, something that Lady Death would likely find unforgivable.

Given that Wanda’s solo adventure would likely be separate from the main MCU storyline, this hatred could serve as the perfect catalyst for a compelling narrative where Lady Death and Wanda clash, leading to an epic showdown. It would also bring back beloved characters like Agatha and Wiccan, something fans are sure to appreciate.

At the end of the day, this is just a theory, but it’s one we found intriguing enough to share. Got thoughts or theories of your own? Let us know in the comments below!
