There’s a Pretty Obvious Reason Why Wanda Wasn’t in ‘Agatha All Along’

‘Agatha All Along’ recently concluded its run with the two final episodes. The ending was bittersweet closing some character arcs and leaving the potential open-ended for others, hopefully, to reappear in the MCU at some point again.

The show is one of the best the MCU ever delivered, it introduced plenty of mysteries, easter eggs, references, characters, and concepts, wonderfully exploring that magical and occult side of the MCU.

However, there’s one thing that fans expected but the show did not deliver on. Taking into account both Agatha’s and Billy’s connection to Scarlet Witch, fans have been expecting Wanda to reappear, at least as some hidden easter egg or cameo.

From the start, this seemed unlikely. Scarlet Witch is currently dead in the MCU, well, to be more precise she is presumed dead no character so far referenced her as completely and utterly dead, they always leave it open-ended. It’s one of the biggest mysteries in the MCU and the studio likely plans on capitalizing on it in a movie.

It’s been heavily rumored that Scarlet Witch will return and will play a massive role in the upcoming Multiversal projects. If the rumors of her solo film are true, it was never reasonable to expect that she is going to get resurrected in ‘Agatha All Along.’

In fact, Schaeffer, the showrunner explained pretty early on that Scarlet Witch won’t be in the show. The reason why is even more simple than MCU trying to build up the mystery around her death and ultimate resurrection – it’s beacuse this is Agatha’s story.

There was a lot of consideration. That’s a great way of articulating it: her shadow. Agatha is not a character who’s going to stand in anyone’s shadow.

So this is emphatically Agatha Harkness’ show. However, we are in the WandaVision corner of the universe, so Wanda’s legacy has threads in this narrative. But, yeah, it is about Agatha. It’s about her journey, it’s about the truth of her, and that is very much our focus with the show.

Including Scarlet Witch in the show would completely take all the attention from Agatha’s story. Yes, the show is ‘WandaVision’ sequel, but there was so much more about Agatha to learn and explore.

If you plan on giving all the characters attention and enough space to develop and conclude their arcs, you can’t put someone as massive as Scarlet Witch in the middle of it. It’s also far too early to bring her back, especially now that Billy has a new purpose – to find his brother.

As we’ve said Scarlet Witch is heavily rumored to return, be it her solo project of the rumored ‘Children’s Crusade’ storyline. The earliest we can expect her to be referenced or to show up as a cameo is an upcoming show focusing on White Vision. The show has been described as being a part of a trilogy along with ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along.’
