The nominations for the 97th Academy Awards dropped today, and as was expected ‘A Complete Unknown’ scored tons of nominations. The Bob Dylan biopic directed by James Mangold was a hit both with the critics and the audiences and it was one of the favorites since its release.

The movie scored nominations in 8 categories in total – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Sound and Best Costume Design.

With a nomination for best actor for the movie, Timothée Chalamet became the youngest actor to become a two-time Best Actor Oscar nominee since James Dean. Chalamet’s last nomination was in 2018 for ‘Call Me By Your Name.’

Chalamet is currently 29 years old, and is already lining up big roles and scoring major award nominations.

The current record holder however is, James Dean, whose posthumous nominations in 1956 for ‘East of Eden’ and ‘Giant’ came when he was just 24.

The 97th Academy Awards will take place on March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The ceremony will honor films from 2024 and will be broadcast live on ABC and streamed on Hulu for the first time. Conan O’Brien will host, and Emilia Pérez leads with 13 nominations, followed by ‘The Brutalist’ and ‘Wicked’ with 10 each.
