Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2025 Revealed: One Unexpected MCU Release Takes The Lead

2025 will be a big year for superhero movies. DCU is kicking off (this time for real) with the release of ‘Superman’ on July 11, 2025. The MCU is bound to release three movies ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ and ‘Thunderbolts,’ following the dry spell in 2024, and a single release of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’

If we’re going by the online hype, the most anticipated movies for 2025 are definitely ‘Superman’ and ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps.’ The latest data release by Fandango however revealed something unexpected.

According to Fandango users, the most anticipated movie of 2025 is ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ The fifth most anticipated movie is ‘Fantastic Four’ with ‘Superman’ surprisingly landing on the 9th spot. The survey sample was 9000 people.

If you check out the comments, you will find a lot of fans confused, as so far ‘Brave New World’ failed to generate the needed hype, and the movie is releasing in around 3 months. The movie was also controversial due to several failed test screenings that caused numerous changes and extensive rounds of reshoots which allegedly added $100M to the movie’s already bloated budget.

And this is before we even mention the whole controversy surrounding Sabra, a Jewish superhero over which fans threatened to boycott the movie due to her comic origin which clearly marks her as Mossad agent.

Several months ago, we theorized that the 2025 box office fight would be between ‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘Superman,’ I guess we were wrong. ‘Thunderbolts*’ unfortunately did not even make the cut.
