Trailer Appears to Reveal the Teen’s Identity in ‘Agatha All Along’

Agatha All Along is the highly anticipated MCU series spinning off from the hit show WandaVision. The series has undergone numerous title changes before settling on its current name, so it’s surprising they’ve finally stuck with one. Scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with two episodes, the series will continue with weekly releases of the remaining seven episodes until November 6, concluding the season.

Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as Agatha Harkness from WandaVision, and several other notable MCU characters will also appear, some of whom we’ve previously covered in rumor-focused reports. However, one character, Joe Locke’s “the Teen,” has intrigued fans ever since his casting announcement.

Marvel has been tight-lipped about the Teen’s identity, and while fans have speculated about his role, Marvel has refrained from confirming these theories. Yet, the subtitles of the latest trailer appear to reveal the character’s identity, potentially marking one of the MCU’s biggest slip-ups and making the Teen’s identity one of the worst-kept secrets in recent memory.

Joe Locke is set to be a key star of the series alongside Kathryn Hahn, with the two characters traveling together. Although Locke’s casting was announced early on, his role was initially labeled only as “the Teen” with no additional details. Locke himself has commented on this:

“One of the things I love about Marvel is you keep all these secrets that are really frustrating at first, especially when you’re doing things like this [press day]. But the reason you keep them is because if you were to tell them, then it wouldn’t have the same effect when it all comes out. The secrets are secrets for a reason, and Teen’s backstory is an interesting one. If I was able to talk about it now, it would ruin the whole point of the show, and that is what keeps me being able to keep a secret. Otherwise, I’d just tell you everything.”

While fans speculated about his role, Marvel played it coy and kept his identity a secret. However, this recently happened:

Unless this was an intentional leak designed to appear accidental, Marvel may have just committed a major blunder. Revealing a supposedly well-kept secret in such a careless manner seems like a significant misstep. It appears, as many fans suspected, that Locke is indeed playing Billy Kaplan/Billy Maximoff/Wiccan in the series, which could pave the way for other members of the Maximoff family to make an appearance.

Whether this was a deliberate move or not remains unclear, but the secret seems to be out, and Marvel will now have to navigate the fallout.
