‘Watari-kun’s ****** Is About to Collapse’ Confirms July Premiere, Reveals More Cast Info

If you like manga and anime with interesting and unusual titles, well – Watari-kun’s ****** Is About to Collapse (Watari-kun no ×× ga Hōkaisunzen) is one we have for you and, as you probably know, it is getting an anime adaptation this year.
The seinen manga was created by Naru Narumi, who published it between 2014 and 2023; the manga has a total of 16 volumes and it will now be made into a – hopefully – very interesting and popular anime series that will combine drama, comedy and thriller elements.
In light of that, we are happy to confirm that the series will premiere in July 2025 as part of the summer slate and that a new visual for the anime has been released, highlighting the main female character, Satsuki Tachibana:
The series will star Shūichirō Umeda as Naoto Watari, Yumika Yano as Satsuki Tachibana, and Yurie Igoma as Yukari Ishihara.
As for the crew, Takashi Naoya (Am I Actually the Strongest?, Real Girl, Übel Blatt) will be directing the anime with Tatsuya Takahashi (World’s End Harem, Eromanga Sensei) is in charge of the series scripts, and Tetsuya Yamada (Am I Actually the Strongest?, Übel Blatt) is writing the scripts with director Naoya. Shōko Yasuda (Am I Actually the Strongest?, Happy Sugar Life) is designing the characters and serving as a chief animation director.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the plot, here is a brief synopsis:
Naoto Watari has had his share of struggles: his parents died two years ago, and now he and his sister live at his aunt’s house. There, his desire to protect his sister earned him notoriety as “the guy with the sister complex”—which never mattered to him, as his sister always came first. But when Satsuki, a childhood friend-turned-enemy(?), becomes his school mate, Naoto’s ordinary life is thrown into chaos … and Satsuki may just be the beginning.
