The original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, who’s Stan Lee’s “favorite superhero,” was prohibited from being remade or rebooted in any shape or form. This means Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy are Peter’s love interests, and these women are the character’s most important people. However, the alternate version of Spider-Man came in 2011 when Miles Morales got introduced to Marvel fans and promptly became one of the most popular teenage superheroes. The Spider-Verse comic book event changed everything, with Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy meeting. This article will discuss if Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy are together in Marvel Comics.

Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy were together at some point in Marvel Comics, specifically in the alternate universe. During the “Sitting in a Tree” storyline, in Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen comic book runs, Miles is transported to Earth-8, where he discovers that another version of himself has been married to Gwen Stacy for twenty years and has two children. When it comes to Marvel and its “animated universe,” Gwen Stacy seems to be a love interest of Miles Morales, who obviously has a crush on her.

We will discuss this topic more by mentioning Gwen Stacy in the Marvel Universe and how she and Miles encounter and meet in the comics. Moreover, we will mention Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Across the Spider-Verse, and the nature of the two superheroes’ relationship. If you are interested, stay with us until the end.

How do Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales meet in Marvel Comics?

We already mentioned how much Spider-Man is important to the Marvel Universe. Peter Parker is the ultimate Spider-Man and a person whom rarely fans dislike. Spidey is so important that the character’s creator, Stan Lee, prohibited anyone from changing Peter Parker’s storyline, looks, and ideals. Of course, alternate versions of the characters were alright, but Earth-616 was never to be changed.

That meant that Peter Parker would remain as he is, a character born in Queens, New York, and whose first love was Gwen Stacy. After she died, Peter fell in love with Mary Jane Watson. These two women were always significant for Peter Parker and his lore; frankly, that hasn’t changed since its creation.

However, when the election of Barack Obama as the first black president of the United States of America became a reality in 2008, writers started thinking about creating a Spider-Man that would be featured in the Ultimate Universe.

What Is the Relationship Between Miles Morales & Gwen Stacy? Are They Together?

Miles Morales was created; a teenager from Brooklyn, New York, gets bitten by a genetically-engineered spider created by Norman Osbourne. However, being a teenager with newfound powers wasn’t exciting for Miles, who wanted a normal life, leaving a superhero job to Peter Parker, Spider-Man. Unfortunately, Peter Parker dies, and Miles Morales takes over as the new Spider-Man and protector of New York – after his reluctance, witnessing the Green Goblin killing Spider-Man changes his mind.

Of course, the Ultimate Marvel Universe is set in Earth-1610, which makes it somewhat different from the main Earth-616 universe. Besides Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy is also alive in that universe and one of the people who inspires Miles to become Spider-Man.

However, they never were together in that universe since Gwen was much older than Miles. In true Marvel Comics fashion, the Multiverse “struck” again and provided us with one of the biggest crises in the last decade – Spider-Verse.

Spider-Verse is a comic book event where Inheritors, a group, targeted all versions of Spider-Man in the Multiverse to hunt all Spider-Totems and feed on their life force. Of course, that means the death of Spider-Men, and many versions of a superhero died during the event.

This crisis led to Earth-616’s Otto Octavius forming a special team of Spider-Men from all over the Multiverse to stop Inheritors and defeat them. One of the recruits was Miles Morales, and Earth-65’s Gwendolyn Stacy, also known as Spider-Woman.

Spider-Woman and Miles Morales met during the Spider-Verse event. They reconnected after Jefferson Davis, Miles’ father, disappeared from his reality and ended up on Earth-65, a reality where Spider-Woman’s origins are. Of course, both realized that Jefferson Davis’ Earth-65 counterpart was part of the notorious group S.I.L.K. as a Scorpion member. This adventure sparked something else between the two Spider superheroes besides the need for heroics. Let’s find out what.

Are Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales together in Marvel Universe?

We mentioned that Gwen and Miles met during the Spider-Verse event, which created a team of multiple versions of Spider-Men to fight Inheritors and stop them from killing all Spideys across the Multiverse. After the event, Miles and Gwen meet again after Miles realizes his father Jefferson has disappeared and ended up on Earth-65, an alternate reality where Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman lives.

In true Multiverse fashion, both realized that Jefferson Davis’ Earth-65 counterpart was part of the notorious group S.I.L.K. as a Scorpion member. Miles and Gwen get to work on bringing Jefferson back to his reality, but during the travel across the Multiverse, Gwen, and Miles stumble upon a possible future of Earth-65 where they are married, Earth-8. Consequently, the future married couple is Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, who become famous and have two talented children, Charlotte and Max.

What Is the Relationship Between Miles Morales & Gwen Stacy? Are They Together?

The family eventually becomes part of the Amazing Eight, the greatest superhero team in the world. Of course, this information sparks something between Miles and Gwen, who start a romantic relationship. Unfortunately, the pair decide to part ways since the realities and time travel are fickle – anything interfering with time, reality, and possibilities will bring chaos.

Miles and Gwen obviously care for each other, and seeing other versions of themselves happy, sparked romantic feelings between them. However, the realities set them apart; they haven’t been romantically involved since then. Other versions of Miles Morales (besides Earth-8’s) and Gwen Stacy weren’t canonically together, but it seems that the animated Marvel Universe will change that.

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘ Trailer Breakdown: Miles Morales’ Journey Continues!

In the animated movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, we see undeniable chemistry between Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen, and Miles’ crush on Gwen Stacy. From the recent trailer and the sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, there is a high possibility of Gwen and Miles finally making that step – a step toward romance.

Of course, that means that Gwen and Miles will be together in another alternate universe since the animated Spider-Man movie, Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Marvel Comics are different realities. But that is a topic for another time, and for the end of the article, we have to say that besides a brief romance on Earth-65, Miles and Gwen Stacy haven’t been romantically involved in Marvel Comics.

In one Spider-Gwen storyline, Gwen Stacy meets and goes on a date with Harry Osbourn but soon realizes she cannot be with him, especially when everyone knows her secret identity – maybe she still likes Miles.

On the other side, Miles seemingly moved on and continued his journey as a superhero on Earth-616, where he joined Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel) to form a teenage superhero group, Champions. In one comic book story, Miles Morales reveals his crush on Kamala Khan, who is seen deeply thinking about his confession.
