Xochitl Gomez (America Chavez) Spotted at the Premiere of ‘Agatha All Along’: Here’s Our Theory on Her Role in the Show
There’s few hours standing between us and the premiere of ‘Agatha All Along.’ The next MCU installment will introduce us to the new and magical corner of the MCU as we will follow Agatha Harkness and her makeshift coven of witches as they walk the witches’ road.
The show picks up quickly after the events of ‘WandaVision.’ Agatha finds a way to escape her prison but she returns to our world powerless, which means that she will have to undergo a deadly journey to reclaim her powers.
The cast for the upcoming show features Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan, and Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale. Ali Ahn will play Alice Wu-Gulliver, while Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Okwui Okpokwasili are set for roles yet to be confirmed. Debra Jo Rupp will appear as Sharon Davis, Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu, and Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal/Green Witch.
The purple carpet premiere was held yesterday and one interesting face was spotted in the crowd, Xochitl Gomez, better known as America Chavez in the MCU.
Now it’s likely that Gomez doesn’t have a role in the show at all and that she came as a friend, but there’s also a possibility that Gomez will be reprising her role and play a vital part in that magical journey.
America Chavez is already tied to one of the most popular magic users in the MCU, Doctor Strange, and due to her unique powers, she can also help Agatha.
America Chavez’s most distinctive power in the MCU is her ability to open star-shaped portals to travel between different dimensions and alternate realities. This ability plays a significant role in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, where it is central to the plot and her interactions with other characters.
It’s quite possible that Agatha will need America Chavez to open a portal to the Witches Road.
The Witches’ Road is a mystical and dangerous path that only practitioners of magic in Marvel comics (and now MCU) can access. The Witches’ Road is primarily used for travel between different magical realms and for accessing hidden or powerful magical energies. Due to its hidden dangers and monstrous things that lurk in the shadows, the pathway has been described as a “death wish” accurately.
It’s quite possible that MCU’s version of witches’ road will be inaccessible to Agatha due to the loss of her powers and she will need America to open her portal.
