Yelena’s Future in the MCU: Major Role in ‘Secret Wars,’ but ‘Doomsday’ Uncertain According to Reports

Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova made her MCU debut in Black Widow (2021) and has since become a fan favorite. The prequel introduced Yelena as part of Natasha Romanoff’s adoptive family, and with Natasha now gone, it’s widely believed that Yelena is taking up the mantle of Black Widow.
Since her debut, Pugh has reprised her role in the Hawkeye series, and her next major appearance will be in Thunderbolts.
Based on promotional materials and insider reports, Yelena is expected to be the film’s central character. But what does the future hold for her beyond Thunderbolts*?
Alex Perez recently had an AMA on Discord and revealed what we can expect at least in the context od Avengers franchise. Perez confirmed that Yelena will have a major role in Secret Wars, but her involvement in Doomsday is still uncertain.
That’s to be expected, honestly. Doomsday will likely focus primarily on Doctor Doom, exploring his motives, while Secret Wars is rumored to be an epic mashup of characters. With over 50 characters rumored to appear—some confirmed, others still speculative—it’s shaping up to be a massive event.
