‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Connects Disney Ride to MCU Canon

The first season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has ended with big surprises for Peter Parker and his friends. The animated series, which is already confirmed for three seasons, introduced a major connection to a Disney Parks attraction, making it part of the MCU canon.
In the finale, Norman Osborn’s true intentions are revealed when his internship program is exposed as a cover for dangerous experiments. Inspired by Thor and the Chitauri invasion, Osborn tries to develop portal technology.
However, his plans backfire, bringing a powerful symbiote to Earth. With help from Doctor Strange, Peter manages to stop the threat, but the incident causes him to cut ties with Oscorp.
Meanwhile, Harry Osborn decides to take a different path from his father. Encouraged by Nico Minoru, he announces the creation of a new company called the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.), meant to help young inventors.
Fans of Disney’s Avengers Campus will recognize W.E.B. from the theme park attraction WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, where it was originally created by Tony Stark. In the show, however, it’s Harry who starts the organization, fitting into this version of Spider-Man’s alternate timeline.
This clever link between the show and the theme park ride opens up exciting possibilities for future seasons. With W.E.B. now part of the MCU, characters like Squirrel Girl and Moon Girl—who appear in the park’s storyline—could also join the animated series.
