Yuri Lowenthal Weighs In on Peter’s Role in ‘Spider-Man 3’

Insomniac Games is moving forward with Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, and while details are still scarce, one key thing is now confirmed—Peter Parker isn’t going anywhere.

During a recent interview, Yuri Lowenthal, who voices Peter Parker in the game series, addressed what Spider-Man 2’s ending means for Peter’s future. In the last game, Peter stepped away from crime-fighting to focus on his personal life and the Emily-May Foundation, leaving Miles Morales as New York’s main protector. However, Lowenthal reassured fans that Peter won’t be sidelined completely.

“There are very few things that I can say about this game, but you have somehow landed on the one thing that I can answer, and that’s that, yes, Peter is not gone,” Lowenthal confirmed. “He will be a part of the next game and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.”

This confirmation puts to rest any worries that Spider-Man 3 would feature only Miles Morales as the lead. While the game may begin with Miles as the city’s sole web-slinger, something big could pull Peter back into action.

One major clue from Spider-Man 2’s ending is Norman Osborn’s ominous order to “get the G-serum ready ASAP” while his son Harry remains in critical condition. This strongly hints at the Green Goblin making his debut, and Peter’s connection to the Osborn family could force him to step in once again.

Another intriguing development is the introduction of Cindy Moon, who appeared in the post-credit scene as the daughter of Rio Morales’ boyfriend, Albert. In the comics, Cindy becomes Silk, a superhero with similar origins to Peter, having been bitten by the same radioactive spider.

Many believe that Cindy will become Silk in Spider-Man 3 and could even be a playable character alongside Peter and Miles. If that happens, the game could introduce fresh gameplay elements with three different Spider-heroes, each with their own unique abilities, upgrades, and missions.

Insomniac has yet to officially announce Spider-Man 3, and with the studio currently focused on Marvel’s Wolverine, it may be a while before we get more details. Some reports suggest the next game could be split into two parts and is targeting a 2028 release on PS5.

What do you think about Peter’s confirmed return? Could we see Silk joining the team? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
